Altars

Altars are an environmental mechanic of the game that modify battle stats and interact with minion abilities.

Each minion sits atop an Altar that shifts in position and affects the battle stats of that minion.

Starting Positions

The minion ordered to the front will start at level 1, and each subsequent minion ordered will be one level higher (before any modifiers).

Shifting Altars

After each attack, the Altar position is shifted down by 1. If an Altar is at position 0, each shift down causes the minion on top to lose 1 health.

Modifiers

The effect of an Altar on a minion is relative to the position of the enemy minion's Altar they are fighting.

Altar Chambers

There are additional hidden positions to place minions called altar chambers. These are always available in the gauntlet and become available from round 3 when playing tournaments in the summoning arena. When you place a minion in an altar chamber, your opponent cannot see the minion until the position above becomes available. When the altar spot above the altar chamber becomes available, the hidden minion will be summoned, and any warm-up abilities will be triggered. This mechanic creates hidden information and extra positioning options that can be strategically used to your advantage.
